Day 128 of 180 – Trekking Up the Money Mountain

Action Tip:  Instead of giving into a desire to go on a stress-induced credit card spending splurge, go do something with a loved one or friend for free. It will be much more enjoyable and fulfilling.

Last night on the way home from work and picking up my son at daycare, I had an overwhelming desire to go shopping to buy new clothes. I had no clothes money so the only way I would’ve gotten new clothes is on a credit card. Instead of driving to the store, I pulled the car into the local library and let my son explore.

He got re-energized looking at the fish. He was so social, sharing the doll babies with another child there. He was fascinated by the iPads, and played with them two at a time. He ran from book rack to book rack pulling out books for me to read to him. He ran to the train and race track to play with the cars. He then spent a long time going up and down two stairs at the book checkout completely happy.

And I was happy.
