Mom’s Scrumptuous Dried Peach Turnovers

 

This is one of those recipes where Mom says, “Alittle of this and alittle of that.” And I say, “Okay, but how much?” Boy, did this turn out scrumptuous. My mom had some dried peaches from Trader Joe’s and came up with this recipe off the top of her head. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. I ❤ u, Mom. :0D

  • 1 bag of dried peaches, diced
  • approx 2 cups apple cider
  • alittle dried lemon zest (fresh is better)
  • alittle almond flavoring
  • alittle butter
  • Mom’s Pie Pastry Dough
  • 1 egg mixed with a tsp. of water
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Dice the dried peaches into bite-size pieces. Cook on low heat with apple cider until tender.
  3. Remove off heat, add lemon zest and almond flavoring. Cool.
  4. Roll the dough out and cut into 5 inch rounds. Spoon peach mixture onto a half of each round. Top with alittle pat of butter.
  5. Brush edges with egg wash. Fold over and seal forming a half moon. Brush each half moon with egg wash.
  6. Bake until golden brown. ENJOY!
